Hello Everyone!!! As you all know, ISAT testing begins next Tuesday (Monday is a holiday.) The detailed schedule is on the Ray site, but next Tuesday through Thursday is Reading, Friday is Math. Then the following week, Monday and Tuesday – Math and Wednesday and Thursday Science. As everyone knows, please make sure your children are rested, well fed and know that they will do fine. Everyone is very prepared and they are a great group of smart kids!!! We will continue to work in the ISAT books, completing all work and then they go home to rest!!
*ISAT—Your children will be allowed to both have gum and eat mints during the ISAT testing!!! If you would like to help buy some of this, that would be great! Thanks! We have 30 students!!!
**There will be NO HOMEWORK during ISAT’s!!! Hopefully this will be a nice incentive for everyone!!! They can continue to read each night, but has a reward of a Homework Pass on other math and language arts!!
***Young Author’s Book!!!! The only exception will be that Young Author’s is coming up! We have talked about this (hopefully you have already heard) and they all seem really excited and wanting to work on this. I will send home an outline -either today or tomorrow- so your child can get started. The completed book is not due until March 28th-that is a Monday, so they have plenty of time. I have told everyone that they can expand on their 3rd grade story (if they have one) if they would like to use that story. Anyway, all of this is so you can be talk about the Young Author’s Story with your child and work on it as it fits your schedule. Thanks.
Language Arts: Will will complete the ISAT book this week, reviewing all concepts and strategies. Again, thanks for all your help with the ISAT preparation!! Lesson 19 in our Journeys Book, focusing on vocabulary words, read aloud and reading the selected story will also be completed. We will discuss the use of persuasion in our reading.
Homework: Monday ISAT #22 Theme – Tuesday- ISAT #23 Poetry – Wednesday ISAT #25 – Figurative Language, Thursday – spend 30 minutes on lessons you need to review in ISAT book.

Homework: I told your children today that they have been working so hard in their math book and the ISAT book, that I am going to give them a gift!!! The gift is that they will take their Unit 6 math test home with them tomorrow-Tuesday and complete the test at home!!! They are very excited and I told them that they deserve it!!!! They will also have their Math Journal 1 book with them. They can then keep this math journal at home-we are finished with it. We will then get our new Math Journal 2 later this week.
