We had a very successful trip to the Farm!!!!

We are walking to the University on Wednesday for a film screening.  Parents are welcome chaperone.

Home assignments:

Reading minimum 15 minutes daily —weekends too! (log printed on the back of this sheet)

A “Writing Application” project will last all 5 days of the week Monday: Plan (choose from the 2 topics provided) Tuesday Draft, Wednesday revise (make it better) Thursday edit (check for errors) Friday publish (turn it in to the teacher)

Writing Application: Note parents may “share the pen” if needed as we start the year and turn it over to more independent writing as we progress.

Choice 1: Creative Writing
Pretend you traveled back to the time when dinosaurs lived.  Write a story that begins like this:  I looked around and saw dinosaurs everywhere!

Choice 2: Extra! Extra!
Pretend you found a large dinosaur fossil.  What kind of dinosaur fossil is it?  Where and how did you find it?  Write a newspaper story about your fossil.
